About Me - Lauren Young
I began my career in the school classroom rather than the yoga studio. I have Masters in Education and am a former special education teacher. During my time as a classroom teacher, I developed a passion for social-emotional learning (self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, relationship skills, and responsible decision making), which are also topics taught in the yoga practice.
While I had been practicing yoga as a student for many years, in 2015, I followed my heart and began teaching yoga. Drawing on my background in education, I decided to pursue certification as a Registered Child Yoga Teacher. (If you'd like to learn more about my certifications, please check out my resume below.)
My goal is to help you feel secure, knowing that I will provide a safe and nurturing environment for you, your child, and your family!
My passion and drive to include everyone of all abilities with yoga stands out in my classes. I feel a connection with each member. I am able to help individuals at all levels by getting to know them and adapting my lessons for each individual. I teach many different types of yoga including yoga for children/teens, prenatal yoga, yoga for individuals with special needs, family yoga, and adult yoga.
I truly want everyone to have fun, gain confidence, and reap the benefits of practicing yoga in a supportive environment. My classes are inspired by and created with my students needs and the local community needs in mind.
